CAFERES JAPAN 2020 Cafe & Restaurant Japan

I went to the Cafe & Coffee Show, which was held for the 8th time. This was my second visit, following last year. *By the way, the exhibition hosted by SCAJ was canceled this year. I was wondering if the event would be held due to COVID-19, but it was, so I went, prepared for fewer exhibitors. *Pacifico Yokohama Every year, it's bustling with many people, but this year, the number of visitors seemed small. Personally, the pre-registration system for admission was very smooth and excellent. I always found it frustrating that it takes about 30 minutes to enter these kinds of exhibitions. This year's trend was, as expected, takeout and labor-saving et cetera. In particular, there seemed to be more takeout material companies than last year (perhaps due to space and layout). Each company put a lot of effort into things like creating original packaging materials, eco-friendliness, and smaller lot sizes. The demand is incredible. There was also instant draft coffee. This is an evolved form of iced coffee, which uses nitrogen and has an impression similar to black beer, and is also sold at the Kakuozan store. Since it brings out a good flavor, I think it's an option for enjoying specialty coffee. And that draft coffee is now available instantly, so you can carry it anywhere. Prepare water, push the coffee container, and it becomes frothy. It lacks creaminess, so rather than as draft coffee, it simply feels like you can easily drink iced coffee anywhere... What caught my attention this time was Green Culture's plant-based meat hamburger. I'm not a vegetarian, but I was impressed by the taste of the plant-based meat, which was completely different from what I had imagined. I have the impression that food diversity is progressing rapidly, and individuals will increasingly be forced to decide what to eat and what to choose, or rather, it will become a world where they can choose. Since coffee is not something that must be drunk, perhaps the number of people who don't drink coffee will increase. Considering that, I feel that we need to further improve the quality of our coffee more than ever before. I believe that coffee can enhance the atmosphere of any given moment, so I vaguely think it would be great if we could sell the entire experience along with coffee, but I can't quite put it into words. It was a day that made me strongly hope that SCAJ will be held next year.
